A fierce encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Gumla district, Jharkhand, led to the death of three extremists, including key figures in the banned JJMP. The operation, which took place in the forests of Rogri Toli, saw the elimination of sub-zonal commanders Lalu Lohar, a resident of Lohardaga district, and Chhotu Uraon, a resident of Latehar. Both were wanted by the authorities.
Sujit Uraon, also from Lohardaga, was identified as the third extremist killed. Police sources confirmed that all three had several serious criminal cases registered against them in various districts of Jharkhand. The police recovered three weapons from the site, including an AK-47. The Gumla SP, Harish Bin Jama, confirmed the operation and stated that a search is on for more extremists.
