A deeply disturbing incident has surfaced from the Godda district of Jharkhand, where a tribal minor girl was gang-raped by ten individuals during a wedding. The incident occurred in the Sunderpahari police station area. Reports indicate that the minor girl had gone outside the wedding venue to relieve herself at night.
Ten men spotted the girl and subsequently abducted her. They gagged her and took her to a secluded spot within the village, where they committed the heinous act. News of the gang-rape caused outrage in the village. A village council was convened to address the issue.
Eight of the accused have been apprehended. When attempts to settle the matter failed and justice remained elusive, the girl’s family filed a complaint at the Sunderpahari police station against the ten accused. The police acted swiftly, arresting eight individuals involved in the gang-rape. All the accused are residents of the Sunderpahari police station area.
A case has been registered against the eight accused under the POCSO Act and other relevant sections following a medical examination of the victim. Further investigation is ongoing. The police are also actively searching for the remaining two suspects. It is worth mentioning that a similar case of gang-rape involving a minor had previously occurred in Godda district.
In a separate incident in Bokaro, a woman was gang-raped. In the Sector-12 police station area, four men accosted a husband and wife on their way home from the market. They forced them to drink alcohol. The husband was tied up, and the four men then gang-raped the wife in front of him. The Sector-12 police responded swiftly and arrested all four accused.
