A chilling incident in Jharkhand’s Giridih district highlights the devastating consequences of a minor financial dispute. Maksood Ansari has been arrested for the murder of his friend, Anoul Ansari, over a debt of just 50 rupees. SDPO Jitvahan Oraon confirmed the arrest and provided details on the investigation. The incident occurred on the night of August 31st near the Mundradih mosque within the Bengabad police station area. Anoul Ansari was killed by Maksood Ansari, reportedly due to the unpaid 50 rupees. After a case was filed at the Bengabad police station, the SP formed an SIT. The SIT, led by the Sadar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, utilized various technical methods to arrest Maksood Ansari from the Ashgandho jungle. The knife used in the murder was also recovered. The investigation is also examining whether others were involved. Anoul Ansari had borrowed ₹200 from Maksood Ansari. On the day of the incident, he had repaid ₹150, leaving a balance of ₹50. This small sum sparked a heated argument that quickly turned violent.
Maksood Ansari repeatedly attacked Anoul Ansari with a knife, inflicting fatal injuries. Following the crime, Maksood Ansari fled the scene. The SIT team from the Giridih police arrested him. The incident of a friend killing a friend has shocked the city. In a separate event, an elderly couple, Navgopal Saha and his wife Bibhu Saha, residents of Chorkatta village in the Muffasil police station area of Dumka district, were brutally murdered in their own home on August 19. Their son-in-law, Subal Saha, was arrested for the murders, allegedly due to his failure to give approximately ₹2 lakh.
