Jamua’s agricultural community is set to benefit from newly opened paddy procurement centers, including the one inaugurated at Chunglo PACS. Block Development Officer Amal Ji used the occasion to strongly advise farmers against selling their paddy to middlemen at exploitative prices. He emphasized the government’s set Minimum Support Price (MSP) – ₹2389 per quintal with an ₹81 bonus for Grade 1 paddy, and ₹2369 per quintal with an ₹81 bonus for common paddy. The officer assured farmers that payments would be directly deposited into their bank accounts. Steps to create farmer IDs are accessible via local revenue offices or Pragyakendra. The government’s initiative to open these centers promptly aims to ensure farmers get optimal prices for their produce. Seven procurement centers have begun operations on the same day in Jamua, covering areas such as Bhandaro, Pobi, Pratappur, Chitradeeh, and Lataqi. The opening ceremony for the Dhurgadgi PACS was reportedly less formal.
