Former Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta finds himself at the center of serious allegations involving organized crime and widespread corruption, following a complaint filed at the Doranda police station. Advocate Rajiv Kumar has submitted a detailed complaint, accusing Gupta of illicitly amassing crores of rupees and managing criminal enterprises during his time as the state’s top police official. The complaint paints a picture of deep infiltration into criminal activities.
The core of the complaint revolves around the alleged establishment of a criminal organization named ‘Koyalanchal Shanti Samiti’ by Anurag Gupta in collaboration with notorious criminal Sujit Sinha. It is alleged that Gupta, while serving as DGP, held indirect control over this large-scale criminal outfit. This syndicate is accused of systematically extorting substantial sums of money from various influential individuals and businesses across Jharkhand, including those in the vital coal sector, contracting, and transportation industries.
These allegations gain significant traction from earlier revelations by Babulal Marandi, Leader of the Opposition in the Jharkhand Assembly. Marandi had previously stated that the ‘Koyalanchal Shanti Samiti’ was equipped with firearms procured from Pakistan. The complaint also brings forth the disturbing claim that Anurag Gupta facilitated a fake encounter of a prisoner, Aman Sahu, on the orders of another criminal. The complainant has underscored the alarming national security implications of these alleged actions.
Furthermore, the complaint details accusations of financial corruption during Gupta’s tenures as DG of ACB and CID. It is alleged that he misused his power to file false cases against his opponents, with the assistance of his trusted officers, including DSPs Mohammad Parvez Alam, Mohammad Nehal, and Animesh Nathani. The complaint also accuses Gupta of extorting money from government officials and engineers by fabricating complaints and issuing fraudulent notices. Several other ACB and CID staff members, including Inspector Ganesh Prasad, constable Amar Kumar Pandey, and constable Ranjit Rana, are named as alleged accomplices in these corrupt activities.
Advocate Rajiv Kumar, through his online complaint, has implored for a comprehensive investigation into these grave accusations. He has formally requested the registration of an FIR against Anurag Gupta and all individuals implicated in his alleged criminal network, emphasizing the urgent need for accountability and justice.
