The ‘Jal Hi Jeevan Hai’ campaign has brought a transformative change to rural West Singhbhum with the inauguration of five new solar water towers on Saturday. Funded by the CSR activities of the Gua Ore Mines management, these solar-powered facilities aim to guarantee access to hygienic drinking water. The launch event started in Gangda village and concluded in Bada Jamkundi village, with installations now operational in Gangda, Ghatkuri, Duiya, Chhota Jamkundi, and Bada Jamkundi. These solar water towers are set to provide a sustainable and dependable source of clean water for the residents. Embracing solar energy aligns with environmental conservation goals and directly addresses the pressing need for water security in these villages. The inauguration ceremony was a well-attended affair, featuring GM (Mines) S.P. Das and GM (E&L) Dr. T.C. Anand from SAIL management, Gangda Panchayat Mukhiya Raju Sandil, Manki Lagura Devgam, and Jamkundi’s Munda Ruben, alongside many community members. The entire project, from planning to the final construction of the solar water towers, was under the dedicated supervision of DGM (CSR) Anil Kumar.
