In a heartbreaking turn of events, Shaligram Mahadev Manki, grandson of the late freedom fighter Singraj Singh Manki and son of Govardhan Singh Manki, has drowned in the sea at Digha. Manki was a well-regarded figure in Khunti, serving as the president of the Khunti District Manki Association and actively involved in social work. Hailing from Jojohatu in the Khunti district, his sudden death has deeply saddened many. The family was informed of the tragedy and immediately departed for Digha on Thursday night. A wave of sympathy has been expressed by leaders such as former Chief Minister Arjun Munda and former MP representative Manoj Kumar, lamenting the premature end to Manki’s life and his potential contributions.
