An incident of domestic violence and murder has occurred in the Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. A woman has been accused of killing her husband because of her romantic relationship with her nephew. She then buried the body within their residence. Upon receiving this information, the police team reached the site and, under the supervision of a magistrate, recovered the body on Saturday. The deceased, identified as Suresh Hansda, resided in Tilaiyatanr within the Tundi police station jurisdiction of Dhanbad. He had been missing for approximately 10 days and worked as a daily wage laborer. Suresh Hansda lived with his wife, Surji Devi, along with their 13-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter. Local villagers and relatives became suspicious when Surji Devi failed to attend her husband’s final rites. When questioned about her husband’s absence, she offered inconsistent explanations. This led to the discovery that the woman had murdered her husband and buried him within the house. The wife, Surji Devi, reportedly used a sharp weapon to kill her husband, Suresh Hansda, driven by her affair with her nephew. She then buried the body inside their home and constructed a mud platform over it. After the police were informed, they went to the location and unlocked the room. Inside, they discovered a mound of soil, raising their suspicions. Subsequently, the body was extracted in the presence of a magistrate. Dhanbad Headquarters-2 DSP Dhirendra Narayan reported that Surji Hansda is responsible for the murder of her husband, Suresh Hansda. The body has been exhumed and sent to SNMMCH for a post-mortem examination. The investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the crime.
