The murder of Sahil, nicknamed “Kurkure,” at Bhatti Chowk in Ranchi has sent shockwaves through the community. The incident led to immediate unrest and violent protests. The crowd targeted the residence and office of ex-councilor Mo. Aslam, causing significant damage and setting fires. Vehicles were damaged. The local population has accused Asif, brother of former councilor Aslam, and his associate Arman of being responsible for Sahil’s murder, with the motive believed to be a pre-existing rivalry. Police have detained a suspect and are probing the case. Prior disputes between Sahil and Aslam, involving an incident within jail, are also under investigation.
