A deadly attack in Khunti, Jharkhand, resulted in one fatality and serious injuries to another. Two friends on a motorcycle were ambushed late Friday night. Police responded promptly after receiving information from the local community. The police took possession of the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination, also initiating an investigation to find the perpetrators.
The incident occurred near Kocharidih village as the victims were returning from the Saiko weekly market. The assailants first threw chili powder into their eyes, causing them to lose control and fall off the bike. Then, the attackers, who were on two other motorcycles, used a sharp weapon to attack Choyta Surukud, resulting in his death.
Singa Munda was critically injured in the attack. The assailants fled the scene. Villagers discovered the victims later that night. They immediately contacted the authorities and rushed the injured man to the nearest hospital, where Choyta Surukud was declared dead. The police from Murhu police station have filed a case based on the injured person’s statement and are actively working to bring the culprits to justice.
