A critical intervention by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Hatia Railway Station has resulted in the rescue of two young girls from a human trafficking racket. During ‘Operation Aahat’ on December 16, 2025, RPF teams from the Ranchi division identified and apprehended a suspect, Mohammad Mustafa Ansari, along with the two victims, aged 12 and 13, near Platform 1’s VIP gate. The girls were reportedly being lured to Chennai with false promises of domestic work and a promised income of ₹10,000 per month. Evidence obtained during the operation included WhatsApp communications and travel tickets purchased by the accused. The rescued children are now in the care of Premashray, Ranchi, while the arrested individual has been handed over to police for further legal proceedings. A case has been filed with AHTU/Kotwali, Ranchi.
