Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari has instructed the Bokaro Steel Plant to address its various issues through coordinated efforts and transparent communication, keeping the local population’s sentiments in mind. The directive was issued during a meeting involving the Chairman of SAIL, his team, departmental secretaries, and the Bokaro district administration. The meeting focused on a range of concerns in Bokaro Steel City. Tiwari mentioned the ongoing development work at SAIL under the Steel Policy, and stressed the importance of ensuring local residents do not feel marginalized. She urged for understanding the local people’s feelings and approaching issues from a humane perspective. She also called for a focus on providing employment opportunities for youth trained in various trades. The meeting also addressed the issue of displaced persons, the restructuring of nine panchayats, and the return of unused forest land. Furthermore, Tiwari expressed the desire to see Bokaro Steel City ranked among the top ten cities.
