Chief Minister Hemant Soren held an important meeting at the Jharkhand Ministry today regarding the Jharkhand University of Health Sciences, which will be established in the state under the Jharkhand Health Science University Act, 2023. He met with Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, Secretary Shri Avinash Kumar, and Additional Secretary of the Health Department Shri Ajay Kumar Singh. During the meeting, he reviewed steps taken toward opening the medical university and gave several important directives. He said that this will be the first medical university to operate in the state. Our government is fully committed to improving and strengthening the state’s medical education and healthcare facilities. Accordingly, the medical university that will be established in Bomp in Ranchi district will be a milestone in this direction. Regulating body formation and faculty appointments should be expedited. Chief Minister instructed that the formation of the regulations for Jharkhand University of Health Sciences and the appointment of faculty members be started as soon as possible, so that its operations may commence promptly. He said that all processes must be completed in accordance with the guidelines of the National Medical Council (NMC). He also mentioned that this medical university should be developed in the field of health sciences so that human resources, medical research, healthcare facilities, and services can be advanced and modernized.
