Chaos and violence erupted during the Durga Puja immersion in Chakradharpur, Chaibasa. Seven youths were attacked with knives by approximately 15 assailants participating in the procession from the Harijan Basti. The attackers escaped after the assault. One of the victims is in critical condition. The incident took place near the police station area. The injured youths were identified as Dhruv Mukhi, Govinda Mukhi, Dinesh Mukhi, Rikki Mukhi, Atul Mukhi, Aman Mukhi, and Ajay Mukhi. They sustained multiple stab wounds. Rikki Mukhi is in a critical state. All the injured are receiving medical treatment at the Chakradharpur Railway Hospital.
