A harrowing night unfolded for a cement businessman in Hazaribagh’s Gorhar police station area, as armed robbers staged a daring raid on his home and business. Sunil Kumar Pandey, the owner of Suryakund Traders, was reportedly held captive with his son on Friday night by individuals wearing masks. The attackers allegedly subjected Mr. Pandey to physical assault after tying him up on the shop’s upper floor. His son also sustained injuries during the incident. Following the intimidation and assault, the criminals entered the family’s residence, absconding with approximately six lakh rupees in cash and an assortment of gold and silver jewelry. The incident has triggered a swift police response, with the Barhi SDPO and Gorhar police initiating a thorough investigation. The victims were taken to Barkattha Community Health Centre for necessary medical attention. Authorities are leveraging surveillance technology and canvassing the area for clues to identify the culprits. The objective is to ensure the swift apprehension of those responsible and recover the stolen valuables, thereby reinforcing public safety.
