Thieves have struck again in Jhumritilaiya, choosing an unoccupied house as their target and absconding with valuable assets. The victim, Sanjay Ghosh, a retired bank employee, had left his home on Devi Mandap Road for a 25-day trip to visit his daughter. A trusted neighbor alerted authorities and the owner after noticing unusual signs of forced entry, including an unsecured rear door and a damaged window grill. An examination of the premises revealed that two rooms had been thoroughly searched, with almirahs emptied of their contents. The stolen items comprise jewelry valued at approximately Rs 14 lakh and Rs 50,000 in cash. This incident adds to the growing concern over unsolved criminal activities in the region. The victim’s son-in-law has lodged a police report, and the investigation is underway, with a focus on reviewing surveillance footage to gather evidence against the perpetrators.
