Auto‑Rickshaw Crushed Under Container in Jharkhand Tragedy

Latehar’s Chandwa police station received an alarm about a devastating crash on the Chandwa‑Chapri‑Lohardaga road. An auto‑rickshaw carrying passengers from Sasang village to Lohardaga met a container truck moving in the opposite direction near Dehri‑Tangwa.

The collision forced the auto to fold beneath the container, killing six occupants on the spot. Several other passengers were injured and taken to the nearby hospital for urgent care. Authorities confiscated the site, secured the wreckage, and launched a full‑scale inquiry.

State officials, including the Finance Minister and a Rajya Sabha member, visited the scene to assess the situation and coordinate relief efforts. Police continue to gather details about the victims and the exact circumstances leading to the crash.
