In a targeted attack, Balram Munda, the Gram Pradhan of Kadehtubid village and a BJP leader, was murdered in Khunti. The incident occurred late Saturday night when a group of armed individuals forced their way into Munda’s home. The attackers fatally shot Munda and also injured his nephew, Achu Munda, during the assault. Local reports indicate that the assailants, armed with firearms, confronted Munda, questioning him about his authority as village head and his interactions with the police before the fatal attack. After the murder, the attackers caused significant damage to the property. Police responded quickly, securing the scene and launching an investigation. Authorities have detained a number of suspects and are actively seeking the remaining perpetrators. The BJP has issued a statement expressing their grief and offering their support.
