The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a Circle Officer (CO) in Palamu district, Jharkhand, for taking a bribe of ₹30,000. The officer, Shailesh Kumar, was apprehended in his office while accepting the bribe. The ACB acted upon a complaint from Ajay Kumar, former head of Itko Panchayat. Kumar reported that the CO had demanded the bribe for the mutation of land purchased by his wife and his friend’s wife. Following a thorough investigation, the ACB verified the claims and subsequently carried out the sting operation.
