Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav visited Nemra, the ancestral residence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, to offer his condolences on Tuesday. He paid tribute to the late Shibu Soren, a revered figure, by offering flowers at his photograph. During the visit, Yadav met with Chief Minister Hemant Soren, MLAs Kalpana Soren and Basant Soren, and other family members, conveying his sympathies and offering solace. He also had a heartfelt conversation with Rupi Soren, the mother of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, expressing the support of the people of Jharkhand during their time of grief. He emphasized that her resilience would bolster the Chief Minister. Yadav lauded the lifelong commitment of Shibu Soren to the welfare of the marginalized, highlighting his dedication to the tribal, Dalit, and other disadvantaged communities. He acknowledged that Shibu Soren’s life would continue to inspire many. He recognized Shibu Soren as a significant leader, whose legacy would be cherished forever.
Furthermore, the traditional eighth-day Shradh rituals for the late Shibu Soren were completed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his family, following customary practices, to ensure the peace of the departed soul.
