Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma participated in a state-level yoga event in Jaisalmer on International Yoga Day. He acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s contributions to the global popularity of yoga. Sharma noted the theme of the day, ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health,’ emphasizing the connection between humans and the environment. He emphasized yoga’s role in promoting health and well-being.
Sharma described yoga as a gift from Indian civilization, a holistic practice that unites the body, mind, intellect, and soul. He stated that yoga provides a way to live a healthy life. He mentioned the roots of yoga in ancient India, with Lord Shiva as the first teacher and figures like Maharishi Patanjali contributing to its development. The Chief Minister credited PM Modi for the global celebration of Yoga Day, highlighting the impact of India’s proposal at the UN. Sharma lauded PM Modi’s efforts in spreading Indian cultural values globally.
He highlighted PM Modi’s contributions to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the renovation of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor, the Mahakal Lok project in Ujjain, the Char Dham project, and the transformation of pilgrimage sites. The Rajasthan government is also working on developing major religious sites. Sharma stated that India has emerged as a spiritual, economic, and military power under PM Modi’s leadership, citing Operation Sindoor and the decision to divert water from the Indus and Chenab rivers to Rajasthan, stopping the flow into Pakistan.
