The IMD’s latest weather update highlights a stark contrast in conditions across India. While the northern and western regions prepare for a heatwave, the Northeast continues to face heavy rainfall. West Rajasthan will endure extreme heat from June 10th to 13th, while other regions are already experiencing high temperatures. Heatwave alerts have been issued for Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and north Madhya Pradesh. The northeastern states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, remain affected by significant rainfall and waterlogging. The IMD anticipates these heavy downpours to continue throughout the week. Uttarakhand is also expecting torrential rains until June 15th. Additionally, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, and Odisha are predicted to receive thunderstorms and rain on specific days.
