The IMD has issued a weather forecast for August 31st, predicting widespread and heavy rainfall across numerous Indian states due to active monsoon conditions. Areas in Northwest India, including Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab, are under a heavy rainfall alert. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Maharashtra and Gujarat in West India. States in east and central India, such as West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, are likely to receive heavy showers. Heavy rainfall will persist in Arunachal Pradesh in the Northeast, with potential thunderstorms and lightning in Assam, Meghalaya, and neighboring regions. Southern Peninsular India, especially Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana, is also expected to experience heavy rainfall. The monsoon trough, currently situated over Bikaner, Ajmer, Guna, Damoh, Durg, Chandbali and towards east-southeastwards to central Bay of Bengal, is influencing the weather patterns. Delhi is expected to have cloudy skies with the possibility of light rain or thundershowers.
