Meanwhile, the weather has shifted in Gorakhpur, Deoria, and Kushinagar in eastern Uttar Pradesh because of a cyclonic storm from the Bay of Bengal. Light rain and thundershowers are predicted for Sunday. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for September 10 and 11. Gorakhpur may experience light cloud cover in the coming days, potentially becoming densely cloudy by Wednesday.
Across the nation, heavy rain is likely in isolated areas of western and northwestern India. Western Rajasthan is expected to receive heavy rain on September 9. Heavy rain is also predicted for Uttarakhand from September 6-8 and 12. Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi may experience heavy rain on September 6. Eastern Rajasthan and Gujarat may receive heavy rain on September 8. Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra are expected to see very heavy rain from September 6-7. Rainfall may increase in eastern and western Rajasthan on September 7. The Meteorological Department urges residents in these areas to prepare for heavy rains and strong winds.
