Sonam Raghuvanshi, arrested for allegedly plotting the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, has denied any involvement. She was apprehended in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. After being found, she stated that she had been kidnapped and did not commit the murder. Her family has also come to her defense, with her father emphasizing her innocence.
Meghalaya police have indicated that Sonam is accused of planning the murder in Sohra. Raja Raghuvanshi was reportedly killed by individuals allegedly hired by her. After the incident, she disappeared and was later found in Ghazipur. Three individuals believed to be involved, Raj Singh Kushwaha, Akash Rajput, and Vishal Singh Chauhan, were arrested. East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem detailed the arrests. Sonam is now in custody, and authorities are arranging her transfer to Meghalaya. The three men were sent to Meghalaya on a seven-day transit remand. Raja Raghuvanshi’s body was discovered near Weisawdong Falls. The couple was married on May 11 and traveled to Meghalaya for their honeymoon, disappearing on May 23 shortly after leaving a homestay. Police found a white shirt, medication strips, a phone screen fragment, and a smartwatch at the scene.
