In a major development, Sonam Raghuvanshi has been arrested by the Gazipur police in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case. Reports indicate that Sonam informed her brother about her situation before the arrest. She was found in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, a short time before the police action. The Indore police are assisting in the arrest by traveling to Gazipur. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma confirmed the significant progress in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder investigation and praised the state police’s efforts. He announced the arrest of three assailants and stated that the search for one more suspect is underway. On X, CM Sangma posted, “Within 7 days a major breakthrough has been achieved by the #meghalayapolice in the Raja murder case … 3 assailants who are from Madhya Pradesh have been arrested, female has surrendered and operation still on to catch 1 more assailant .. well done #meghalayapolice.” DGP I Nongrang revealed that four individuals, including Raja’s wife, have been arrested in connection to the murder in Meghalaya. It is alleged that Sonam was involved in arranging for the killing of her husband during their honeymoon.
