The death of a 20-year-old student from Balasore, Odisha, who set herself on fire has led to widespread grief and protests. The student, from Fakir Mohan Autonomous College, died at AIIMS Bhubaneswar after being admitted to the Burns Centre ICU. She had sought medical care but died on July 14, following an attempt to self-immolate. The student had reportedly filed a complaint about sexual harassment with college authorities before this. The Chief Minister of Odisha has promised strict action against those responsible for the incident.
