JAMMU: Some college students of Government Gandhi Memorial College right here on Friday recited Hanuman Chalisa in protest in opposition to use of loud speaker by a neighborhood mosque, officers mentioned.

However, police later stopped them from reciting Hanuman Chalisa and detained half-a-dozen college students, although they had been later let off.

According to the officers, as college students had been finding out at school rooms, there was use of loud speaker by a neighborhood mosque, triggering protests by the scholars that there’s disturbance to their research on the GGM College.

Angry over violation of use of loud speaker and failure of authorities to cease it, college students resorted to chanting of ‘Hanuman Chalisa’.

The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Tuesday had handed a decision for the elimination of loudspeakers and public tackle methods working with out permission from spiritual and public locations.
