Dr. Rudresh Kuttikar, CMO of Goa Medical College and Hospital, has rejected Health Minister Vishwajit Rane’s apology, insisting on a public apology in the casualty department where an earlier confrontation took place. The Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) has also warned that they might strike if the minister does not meet the CMO’s demand. The original disagreement was over a non-emergency request for a B12 injection.
Kuttikar criticized the minister’s apology, labeling it a ‘studio apology’. He wants the apology to be as widely publicized as the incident in which he was reprimanded. The health minister has previously issued an apology on social media, regretting his behavior and acknowledging the politicization of the issue.
