India is currently witnessing a wide range of weather-related crises, from devastating floods to severe droughts. The situation is particularly critical in Punjab, where relentless rainfall has surpassed the 1988 flood record. Over 37 deaths have been reported in the state, with 1655 villages submerged and over 3.5 lakh people affected.
Torrential rains have caused extensive damage across the country, particularly in northern India. Landslides, inundation, and infrastructure failures have led to loss of life and displacement. In Uttarakhand, the heavy rainfall has caused various incidents, resulting in about 79 deaths and 95 people still missing.
Delhi and Uttar Pradesh face severe flooding, with the Yamuna River exceeding its danger mark and several cities experiencing waterlogging. Himachal Pradesh has also faced challenges from landslides, with 11 fatalities reported.
