Four militants travelling to Kashmir in truck killed in ‘probability encounter’ in Jammu

SRINAGAR: Fout militants had been killed in an encounter with safety forces within the Sidhra space of Jammu, the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday morning.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Mukesh Singh mentioned in view of January 26, the border safety grid had been tightened and safety beefed up within the Jammu area.

 “The policemen at around 7 am detected unusual truck movement in the Jammu area. Usually, the truck movement starts after noon. But we noticed an unusual truck movement and the Quick Reaction Team (QRT) chased the truck and intercepted it near the Sidhra checkpoint,” he mentioned.

The ADGP mentioned the driving force was requested to come back down from the automobile and on the pretext of attending to nature’s name, he fled away from the spot.

“While security men started a search of the truck, they came under fire from within the truck. The fire was returned by the troops and two to three militants hiding in the truck were killed in the gunfight,” he mentioned.

The truck by which militants had been hiding caught fireplace through the trade of gunfire.

He mentioned the search operation within the space goes and a manhunt has been launched to trace down the truck driver, who fled from the world.

Immediately after the encounter, extra police and safety males rushed to the world to tighten the siege.

A police official mentioned an investigation has been launched to establish whether or not the militants had been freshly infiltrated and in that case, then which route that they had taken to infiltrate from the opposite facet of the border.

“The identity of the slain militants and the outfit to which they owe allegiance is also being ascertained,” a police official mentioned including, “Further investigation is going on”.
