Lieutenant Parul Dhaddwal has made history as the first female officer from a family with five generations of service in the Indian Army. Her commission follows her successful training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. She was commissioned into the Army Ordnance Corps on September 6, 2025.
Dhaddwal’s training performance was exceptional, resulting in her earning the top position in the Order of Merit. She was honored with the President’s Gold Medal for her discipline, dedication, and leadership. Her roots are in the village of Janouri in the Hoshiarpur district of Punjab, a place with deep military roots.
