During the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar, Election Registration Officers (EROs) identified irregularities in the documentation of nearly 3 lakh voters. Notices have been dispatched, compelling these individuals to respond and present themselves within a week. This number may increase as the examination of documents continues across various assembly constituencies.
The draft voter list, published on August 1, includes 72.4 million voters. The Election Commission has instructed all voters to provide one of eleven specified documents by September 1 to prove their eligibility. The Election Commission confirmed that nearly all registered voters, 98.2%, have submitted their documents. Notices will be issued this week to those who haven’t submitted any documents, those who provided incorrect documents, or those whose citizenship or eligibility is questionable.
