Gorakhpur is set to experience a significant economic upswing with the upcoming inauguration and foundation stone laying of projects totaling Rs 1,551 crore. The Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) is driving this initiative. The plans include the establishment of a Skill Training Centre and Common Facility Centre (CFC) within the Plastic Park, adjacent to the Gorakhpur Link Expressway. The Plastic Park, a key initiative by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, aims to boost India’s presence in the global plastic trade. Several units are already operational, and three new units with a combined investment of Rs 120 crore will be inaugurated. Additional major investments by private companies are expected to generate considerable employment. The development package also includes a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) and the Kalesar Housing Scheme, signaling comprehensive progress in the region.
