The Election Commission of India (ECI) will hold a press conference on August 17, 2025, at 3 PM at the National Media Centre in New Delhi. This will be the first press conference after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) concerning the voter list in Bihar. The revision has been undertaken four months prior to the Bihar assembly elections, raising some questions. The core goal of the SIR campaign is to ensure all eligible citizens are included in the voter list, while removing ineligible names. The first phase of this process started on July 1. The final voter list is scheduled to be published on September 30, following the resolution of any claims and objections. The comprehensive revision includes door-to-door enumeration.
