The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts increased rainfall as the monsoon season approaches. The IMD forecasts isolated heavy showers in Northwest India from June 25th. Furthermore, alerts have been issued for heavy rainfall across Central, East, and Northeast India during the next seven days.
The IMD’s recent update indicates that West Madhya Pradesh will see intense downpours today, while Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh will receive rain between June 23rd and 27th. Residents of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh are advised to be cautious due to possible traffic disruptions and waterlogging due to the rains.
Monsoon is also expected to impact areas of Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat, starting today and likely continuing until June 29, 2025. The IMD also stated that conditions are conducive for the southwest monsoon to advance into the remaining parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi. The monsoon is expected to reach Delhi by June 30th.
Warnings for isolated heavy rainfall are also in place for Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, and Haryana (June 25-27), Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, and East Rajasthan (June 24-29), West Rajasthan (June 24-25), East Uttar Pradesh (June 24, 28, and 29), Kerala and Karnataka (June 24-27), and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam (June 27-28).
