Justice Mini Pushkarna instructed authorities and related parties to provide suggestions for the rehabilitation of stray dogs, with the goal of reducing conflicts between humans and dogs.
The court’s statement was accompanied by an order to treat dogs with kindness, recognizing them as the world’s most beloved creatures and humans’ best friends. The court emphasized the need to protect and respect dogs. During the hearing, the court also discussed the planned demolition of a temporary shelter housing over 200 dogs and the closure of 78 veterinary hospitals. The court observed that sterilization has been ongoing for 30 years without substantial impact, and is not a viable solution.
