Investigations into the Delhi car blast have yielded a dramatic revelation: the explosion itself was likely an accident caused by terrorist panic following arrests and the dismantling of their Faridabad module. The real, meticulously planned targets were far more significant, including the sacred Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. In New Delhi, the terrorists had set their sights on critical government and military infrastructure, such as Sena Bhavan, the Air Force office, the BJP headquarters, and the area surrounding Parliament House.
As the crackdown continues, around 1500 people have been detained. The investigation has uncovered that the suicide bomber, Dr. Umar, did not possess adequate materials for a high-intensity blast, suggesting the Red Fort explosion was a mistake. The plot involved the accumulation of a large quantity of ammonium nitrate over a two-year period, with the explosives for the Delhi blast being prepared in the 30 days leading up to the incident.
Cryptic communications have emerged from the investigation. Chats from Dr. Shaheen, an arrested doctor, used the word ‘Dawat’ for a ‘blast’ and ‘Biryani’ for ‘explosives’. A recovered message stated, ‘Dawat ke liye biryanai taiyar hai,’ meaning ‘explosive is ready for blast,’ illustrating their coded language.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has established a dedicated team to thoroughly investigate this terrorist act, linked to a Jaish-e-Mohammad module. The investigation is also tracing links to an incident in Srinagar involving objectionable posters. The NIA is probing the involvement of several individuals arrested from different regions, including Maulvi Irfan Ahmad Waghay, Zamir Ahmad, and Dr. Adeel. The recovery of substantial amounts of arms and explosives, totaling nearly 3,000 kilograms, from various locations, including medical colleges and residential premises in Faridabad, highlights the extensive reach of the foiled terror network.
