A joint operation by the Noida STF and Baghpat Police in the Kotwali area of Baghpat resulted in the fatal shooting of a dacoit. The encounter occurred during an attempt to apprehend a truck robbery gang. The wanted individual was shot and later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
The deceased was identified as Sandeep, son of Satveer, from Bhaini Maharajganj, Mahem, Rohtak. He was a suspect in a truck robbery case in Kanpur’s Panki police station area, involving nickel plates worth around four crore rupees. A reward of one lakh rupees was offered for his capture.
Sandeep was also linked to numerous instances of highway robbery and the murder of truck drivers. He is believed to have murdered more than four drivers and stolen their trucks.
Multiple cases, exceeding 16 in number, related to highway robbery and the murder of truck drivers are pending against him in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Haryana.
