In a significant development, the Delhi Police have arrested a man in connection with a cyber fraud involving a staggering Rs 29 lakh. The arrested individual, Chotmal Saini from Sikar, Rajasthan, was already wanted in multiple cyber fraud cases. The scam involved an online job offer that lured the victim to invest money on a fraudulent website, with the promise of returns. The accused, impersonating an investment advisor, utilized social media to maintain contact with the victim and persuade her to make further investments. This case is part of the Delhi Police’s broader effort to combat cybercrime, including a recent operation that dismantled a cyber-extortion racket utilizing blackmail through nude video calls.
