Concern for Indian Students in Iran: Mehbooba Mufti Appeals for Government Intervention

Mehbooba Mufti, the PDP chief, has urged the Indian government to take immediate action to bring back Indian students stranded in Iran. She expressed concern about the families’ anxiety and requested the Ministry of External Affairs to intervene promptly. The Indian Embassy in Tehran is focused on supporting Indian students, closely monitoring the situation, and providing assistance. The Embassy is working to relocate students to safer areas within Iran and is also evaluating alternative options, including possible evacuation plans. Additionally, the Embassy is in contact with community leaders to address safety and welfare issues. This plea comes in the wake of reports of Israeli strikes on various weapons production sites in Iran.
