Disturbing details of child abuse have emerged from a school in Haryana’s Panipat. A seven-year-old boy was subjected to a cruel punishment for failing to do his homework, with the incident captured on camera. The videos, which have gained widespread attention, show the principal and staff members’ violent treatment of the young students. The school driver, Ajay, is seen in one video hanging the Class 2 student upside down and beating him. Principal Reena is seen slapping the children in another video. The mother of the child reported that her son had recently started attending the school. She alleged that the principal had instructed the driver to punish her son. The principal claimed that she had communicated with the parents prior to administering the punishment. She admitted to instructing Ajay to scold the young boy on August 13 and that the driver was dismissed in the same month. The family alleges that the driver sent individuals to their home to intimidate them after the videos circulated. The Model Town Police have registered a case under the Juvenile Justice Act (2015), and the principal and driver will likely be arrested soon.
