The IMD has confirmed the arrival of the southwest monsoon in Konkan, Central Maharashtra, Gujarat, southwestern Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim, causing a change in the state’s weather. The anticipation is for heavy to very heavy rainfall in North Chhattisgarh on June 17 and 18.
