An investigation is underway in the Balodabazar district of Chhattisgarh following a violent incident. A petrol pump supervisor was attacked in the Dhabadih village of Bhatapara. The primary suspect is Krishna alias Raja Verma, who is alleged to be the nephew of Tankram Verma, the state’s Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare. Three individuals have been arrested in connection to the assault. The events occurred on the night of August 9th. Vinod Dubey, the victim, reported that while on duty at the Nandlal Fuel petrol pump in Dhabadih around 11 pm, he was approached by Krishna Verma and Ashish Baghel. They reportedly took him to a nearby truck, where he was assaulted. According to the victim, the attackers made threats and physically attacked him, citing their connection to the minister as a reason for their actions. Minister Tankram Verma has acknowledged the incident, stating his disapproval of any wrongdoing, and asserting that the law would be followed. He did not confirm the familial relation to the accused. The accused, Krishna Verma, is 43 years old and resides in Champa village. Other accused individuals are Ashish Baghel (43 years old) and Bhim Sahu (26 years old), both from Semharadih. The police are conducting further investigations, and legal proceedings are expected.
