An astonishing case has emerged from Korba, Chhattisgarh, where an arrest warrant was issued for a deceased individual, exposing procedural flaws. The incident reflects significant failures in the functioning of law enforcement and the judicial system.
Dilip Dubey, a resident of MP Nagar, Korba, is at the center of this issue. He passed away on January 31, 2024. Nonetheless, the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court issued an arrest warrant in his name on September 19, 2024. The warrant stated that he was to be arrested for not appearing as a witness in a case.
Dubey’s family members claim that the police bypassed the summoning process and went straight to their home with the arrest warrant. The case is related to an assault on their son by a young man, which was reported at the Rampur police station. The police had named Dilip Dubey and his wife as witnesses. The family is currently seeking to have the warrant revoked through legal channels. This incident raises serious concerns about police and judicial practices. Currently, no official has offered any comment regarding the case.
