The police have successfully unraveled the mystery behind the murder of a priest in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, linking the crime to an illicit relationship. The investigation revealed that the deceased priest, Jageshwar Pathak, was involved in an affair with a married woman. This relationship served as the catalyst for the husband’s deadly plan. Consequently, the police arrested the husband and four additional individuals, including a minor, for their involvement. The priest was deceived and brought to the scene under the pretense of a religious ceremony. There, he was brutally attacked with a suspension pipe, resulting in his death. The incident occurred on August 31st. The lifeless body of priest Jageshwar Pathak was discovered at the Path Baba temple complex located in the Takhatpur police station area. The body bore fatal head injuries. Promptly, the police, along with the dog squad and the FSL team, reached the site after the murder was reported. Bilaspur SSP Rajnesh Singh also attended the scene. The police began their investigation, gathering information from the family and friends, eventually uncovering the priest’s illicit affair. Several suspects were held in custody as the investigation progressed. The police arrested Suresh, Hemkumar, Dhanraj, Mukesh, and a minor in connection with the case. The authorities successfully apprehended the suspects within 24 hours.
