A violent crime in Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Chhattisgarh, resulted in the arrest of a 14-year-old girl for the murder of a man. The victim repeatedly told the girl off for using her mobile phone, which triggered the tragic event. The girl used a ‘tangiya’ to inflict fatal wounds on the man’s head and face. The incident occurred on August 12th in Amera village. Police were notified about the murder, where they found the body of Purushottam Yadav on the veranda of his home. A case was registered at Palari police station under Section 103(1) BNS, and an investigation was initiated. SP Bhavna Gupta instructed a comprehensive investigation, involving the FSL team’s examination of the crime scene. Police questioned neighbors, relatives and acquaintances of the deceased. The 14-year-old girl was brought in for questioning. She initially appeared distressed and altered her statements. After a psychological interrogation, the girl confessed to killing Purushottam Yadav. The girl stated the victim continuously scolded her for using her phone. Out of anger, she used an iron ‘tangiya’ and attacked him, leading to his death. The girl has been arrested and presented before the court.
