The Sukma district of Chhattisgarh witnessed an IED blast orchestrated by Naxalites, leading to the death of ASP Akash Rao Giripunje and injuries to several other police officers. The explosion occurred near Dondra village during a patrol conducted amidst a bandh called by Naxal groups. The injured were swiftly transported to Konta hospital for treatment. The incident took place between 9 and 10 AM. Deputy CM Vijay Shamra mourned the loss of ASP Giripunje, calling him a brave officer. This incident highlights the ongoing Naxal threat in the region. Security forces have initiated search operations.
