Raipur, A program was organized today at the auditorium of Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur on the occasion of 'Kargil Vijay Diwas'. In the program, the Higher Education Minister paid tribute to the immortal martyrs of Kargil and shared his views on the internal and external security of the country, the role of youth, and the vision document for a developed India in 2047.
*Kargil Victory: A Saga of Self-Respect and Indomitable Courage*
Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma said that on July 26, 1999, under 'Operation Vijay', the Indian Army repelled the enemies while protecting its borders. The victory in Kargil was not just a military success, but a victory for India's intact self-respect. The country will always remember the sacrifice of our brave soldiers. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the entire state of Chhattisgarh to the brave women, ex-servicemen, and their families.
*Dutifulness in Daily Life is True Patriotism*
Highlighting the definition of patriotism broadly, the Higher Education Minister said that patriotism is not limited to sloganeering on special occasions. Being punctual, working honestly, helping the needy, conserving water and the environment, and adopting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's calls 'A Tree in Mother's Name' and 'Vocal for Local' in life is real patriotism.
*Security is Necessary Not Just at Borders, but on Campus and in Digital Media*
Referring to the challenges of the digital era, he said that spreading fake messages without verification harms social harmony. Along with this, citing cases like the recent NEET examination controversy, he said that antisocial and external elements trying to spoil the academic environment will have to be closely monitored. He strictly advised all colleges and universities in the state to exercise vigilance for peace, security, and smooth teaching on campuses.
*Vision for 2047: Developed India, Prosperous Chhattisgarh*
Minister Shri Verma said that the youth have the biggest responsibility in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Developed India 2047' and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai's resolve for 'Prosperous Chhattisgarh'. He appealed to higher education institutions not to just impart bookish knowledge to students but to develop in them a sense of national pride, discipline, and leadership qualities. Also, to connect youth with the valor of the army, regular seminars and exhibitions should be organized in colleges in honor of brave soldiers. He said that the youth of Chhattisgarh, from Bastar to Sarguja and Raipur, have immense energy. The creation of a prosperous Chhattisgarh is possible only by connecting this energy with education, skills, research, and innovation.
Present at the program as special guests were former Vice-Chancellor of Hemchand Yadav University, Durg, Prof. N. P. Dixit, senior educationist Prof. T. L. Verma, Vice-Chancellor of Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Prof. Sachchidanand Shukla, Registrar of the University, Dr. Shailendra Patel, along with Heads of various departments of the university, professors, researchers, and a large number of students.
