The Maa Lingeshwari Temple, a site of ancient mystery within a cave in Aalor Jhatiban, Kondagaon, will open to the public for only one day this year. The temple’s doors are set to open on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, adhering to the established customs.
Located in the scenic Bastar valleys, this temple holds significant religious importance. Maa Lingeshwari is venerated in the form of a Shivling within its walls. It is widely believed that those who come to the temple with prayers have their desires granted.
Annually, the temple welcomes thousands of pilgrims from both Chhattisgarh and other states. Couples desiring children often visit to seek blessings for offspring. Traditional offerings include cucumbers, which are later divided by the priest and given as prasad to the couple. This act is thought to help fulfill their wishes.
During a press conference, Nandlal Diwan, the priest representing the Maa Lingeshwari Seva Samiti from Aalor Jhatiban village, confirmed that the temple will open its doors on the morning of September 3, as has been the practice. Thousands of devotees are expected to attend this special event.
The Maa Lingeshwari fair generates considerable anticipation throughout the year, with devotees often arriving the day before to ensure they can be among the first to receive the deity’s blessings.
